The theme last night was Time and it worked on the Crows in various and wonderful ways. The Kardashians celebrating New Years as interpreted by Ingmar Bergman? Check. A young couple enduring a surreal nightmare of waiting at O'Hare Airport? Check. A friendly, chatty carpenter ant explaining her life? Check.

Just a few of the terrific plays read last night at the January 2016 DeathMatch. The playwrights lined it up and the actors knocked it out of the park in front of the largest Crowbait audience ever. It was, no joke, standing room only. Jody was our host with the most.

Deathmatch themes range far and wide but several have proven so popular that the demand they be brought back is high. So it is with the February madness that is the 10 Minute Musical. Our host Victoria explains:

"Okay, here it is. my theme for February CBC is "Escape" ~ and must include one of these songs (write your own replacement lyrics) "Some Enchanted Evening" or "The Impossible Dream"

On your marks, get set, GO!.

And remember, plays begin at Crowbait Club but don't end there. Deathmatch plays have been performed all over the country. Are you next? Send your work out!
